ph This is a reproduction of costume that Pinocchio wears. I have done alot of research on proper attire worn not only in Italy but also in Germany during this period of time. During my research I have discovered that it was very popular to wear aTyrolean Alpine Hat. The Alpine hat is simply a wool felt hat molded to a hat form with a small brim folded up, and usually worn with a feather. Another popular piece of attire worn during October fest was the Lederhosen overalls, which are still worn to this very day, during the German festivities in October. Also part of this costume is a beautiful black vest, which appears to me, to be more of an Italian piece of attire rather then German. On this vest is a the yellow soutache sewn at the edges of the vest. The large collar and large blue satin bow were simply worn by the adolescence of this time; this sort of attire was typically worn for school. The VEST is made with a black corduroy, and lined with a black cotton. This VEST is just divine and Looks just like an authentic Pinocchio VEST, that you would picture in a Movie. The Shirt is made of a yellow 100% Cotton. With a customized large white 100% cotton collar. Down Center front are 3 yellow buttons as a closing. You will not find a shirt like this anywhere; you cannot find a pattern like this. I have created my very own pattern to establish this large sized collar. The bow tie is made with a Royal Blue Satin, this tie is fully lined. With a knot in the center. This tie has a ribbon that ties all around the neck and then clasp in the back with a velcro. The Lederhosen overalls are made with a 100% cotton Red Velveteen and lined with a red cotton fabric. These overalls are just gorgeous!!! You will never find anything like these. These were designed by me with lots of love for my littlest boy. This pattern took many attempts until I got just the right fit, to look just like the ones that Pinocchio. On the side seams a jacquard fabric is sewn on to the pants, just like the traditional October fest overalls worn in Germany. There are two large yellow buttons sewn at the chest area and then fastened by the overall suspenders with buttonholes. The Hat is made of wool felt and molded onto a hat form that I have carved out with my very own hands. On the hat is a satin blue ribbon around the dome of the hat and then pinned under the ribbon is a red feather, just like the ones you see in Germany and Italy.Below I have listed photos of the hat that will come with this costume. ALSO AVAILABLE IN CHILD SIZES AND LADIES SIZES IS THE BLUE FAIRY For shoes I recommend brown Mary Jane shoes. I purchased mine from eCRATER. YES! They are girl shoes. If you don’t want your boy to wear girl shoes, I guess a nice pair of brown loafers will do. I chose to go with girl shoes, only because they look just like the ones from the movie. I also bought a pair of toddler gloves on eCRATER as well.
